NTA UGC NET JRF December 2026 Online Form – Apply Online

Short Information: The National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has released the notification for the UGC NET December 2026 examination. The examination is conducted to determine candidates’ eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes in Indian universities and colleges, as applicable. The examination covers 87 subjects and will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates must generally possess a master’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university with at least 55% marks for General/Unreserved and General-EWS categories and 50% marks for eligible reserved categories, including OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD/PwBD, and Third Gender candidates. Eligible candidates appearing in their final year of a master’s degree may also apply, subject to the prescribed conditions. For the JRF category, the upper age limit is generally 30 years, with applicable relaxations as per the official notification; there is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor eligibility. The online application process started on 08 October 2026. The last date to submit the application form and pay the examination fee has been extended to 31 October 2026, up to 11:50 PM, without a late fee. The application correction window is scheduled for 02–04 November 2026, and the examination will be held from 14–19 December 2026.
